Responsible Tourism Charter

At CEYLEONS LEISURE, we believe tourism should enrich both the traveller and the host community. Our commitments guide every operational decision we make.

1. Championing Slow & Longer Travel

Rushing from place to place creates congestion, exhaust emissions, and shallow tourist interactions. We encourage multi-night stays in fewer regional bases. This gives our guests a true sense of peaceful belonging and distributes tourist spending directly into local town economies.

2. Direct Community Economic Empowerment

We prioritize independent Sri Lankan family-owned hotels, locally owned organic fruit and spice farms, village artisans, and community-guided heritage walks. We ensure that our drivers, local guides, and service staff receive fair, dignified compensation.

3. Absolute Respect for Wildlife Welfare

Sri Lanka is endowed with wondrous wildlife. CEYLEONS LEISURE strictly refuses to support any activity involving elephant riding, drugged photo opportunities, or unethical confinement. All safaris are conducted in protected National Parks with trained naturalists who respect animal distances and quietude.

4. Preserving Cultural Dignity & Heritage

We educate our guests regarding respectful dress codes at sacred Buddhist and Hindu shrines (covering shoulders and knees, removing shoes and headwear). We foster sincere cultural appreciation that respects local traditions as living faith.

5. Minimizing Environmental Footprint

We partner with boutique resorts that prioritize solar water heating, composting, plastic reduction, and rainwater harvesting, helping safeguard Sri Lanka’s natural paradise for future generations.
